Zoo Attendance Record Set

On Saturday December 29th, Reid Park Zoo set a new attendance record when our 606,885th visitor walked through the gates! The previous record of 606,884 was set in 2012, the year Expedition Tanzania opened. 2014 has also been a great year for the Zoo–after a mild winter and a series of successful spring and summer events, we welcomed Nandi, the first elephant calf ever born in Arizona, to the Zoo on August 18th! Monthly attendance records have been set each month since Nandi went out on exhibit.

The Vanselow & Van Praag Family from Oro Valley set the new record. They were met and congratulated by Zoo Administrator Jason Jacobs, who presented the family with gift baskets from the Zoo gift shop and a special VIP evening at Zoo Lights.
