Penzi Health Update
You may have noticed Penzi hasn’t been visible as often on the Zoo cam recently. Penzi’s nursing decreased over the weekend and she has had significant diarrhea later in the week. Dr. Roth, our veterinarian, and the elephant team have been working together to treat Penzi. With the current heat, Penzi has been playing on habitat early in the morning and then spends the rest of the day in the cool barn to decrease her chance of dehydration. Our team continues to care for and monitor her and the rest of the herd closely. We will continue to keep you posted on her progress.
