Mapenzi Playing in the Mud

Mapenzi, our newly-named African elephant calf, is on track to becoming an expert wallower!

Wallowing in mud is lots of fun, but it’s also good for the herd. Mud baths are a great way to cool down, and they give the elephants a protective layer that helps shield them from the sun and protect them from bug bites.
