Anteaters are Excellent Diggers

Giant anteaters are excellent diggers! They use their long claws and strong arms to dig up insects. Nico the anteater’s head is around two feet long, and you can see that his entire head fits into the hole he is digging! Anteater care staff frequently fill these holes and bring new substrate into the habitat to provide these digging opportunities.
