Young Explorers – Fall Series – From Dawn to Dusk

Sunday, September 8, 2019
9:00 am — 11:00 am

New for 2019!

This new, interactive Young Explorers program will focus on one unifying topic for each series. During the Fall series, your child will discover how animals sleep.  Some animals are just like us and sleep at night, others are only active at night and some sleep all winter. Through up-close animal encounters, behind the scenes adventures and hands-on activities your child will see first-hand which sleeping schedules the animals in the wild use to survive.

Register for one or come to ALL the programs within the series for the maximum adventure!

THIS MONTH’S TOPIC:

To continue the theme of animal sleeping patterns, we will dive into the topic of crepuscular animals! Crepuscular animals are most active at dawn and dusk, and spend much time sleeping throughout the day. During this program, your child will create enrichment treats for the capybara, learn how Zoo Keepers care for the lions during a special keeper chat just for them, enjoy watching the tortoise receive a refreshing shower, and meet some of our crepuscular animal ambassadors.
