Bear Care Workshop for Animal Care Professionals

Bear Care; Beyond Feeding and Cleaning

This workshop is designed for individuals who care for bears professionally. It is not open to the general public. The $125 registration fee covers all three days of the conference. Registration has closed; please call Leslie Waters at 520-837-8192 with questions.

This workshop will be facilitated by the AZA Bear Taxon Advisory Group, and hosted by Reid Park Zoo in Tucson, Arizona. Participants should plan on arriving in Tucson on April 6, and departing on April 10.

The workshop will be a forum for you to share what’s working–and what’s not–at your facility. We’ll brainstorm problems and discuss creative solutions, talk about what’s new in bear enrichment and training, and explore trends in bear behavior and health.

The program will feature two full days of presentations and discussions at La Quinta Inn & Suites, Tucson Reid Park, as well as tours and activities at Reid Park Zoo and the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum.
