“25 Years of Cheetah Conservation” with Dr. Laurie Marker, Founder and Executive Director of the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia, in partner with Cheetah Kids.

Join us Thursday, April 7th to meet Dr. Laurie Marker for “25 Years of Cheetah Conservation,” a presentation of her journey to secure a future for the world’s fastest land animal, the cheetah.

Dr. Marker is recognized around the world as one of the leading experts on cheetahs, both in the wild and in captivity, and began her in situ research in Namibia, Africa, in 1977, where she conducted groundbreaking research on the re-introduction of captive born cheetahs to the wild.

Dr. Marker will be signing her new book, A Future for Cheetahs!

In the book, Dr. Marker shares the story of the cheetah’s race against extinction, illustrated with some of the rarest and most beautiful images of the wild cheetah by renowned wildlife photographer, Suzi Eszterhas.

Doors open and refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. at the Zoo’s Conservation Learning Center. Dr. Laurie Marker’s presentation will begin at approximately 6 p.m. Your ticket includes appetizers, non-alcoholic beverages, and the presentation. A cash bar will be available.
