A Wild Night Benefiting Reid Park Zoo

ZOOcson is going virtual for its 27th annual evening of fundraising and elegant Zoo fun. ZOOcson, presented by The Andrews Family Foundation, is inspired this year by the joyous birth of Penzi, the Zoo’s new elephant calf. This year’s virtual gala will take place on October 2^nd from 6:00 – 7:00pm.

Join co-hosts Zoo Personality Jed Dodds and Community Leader and Board Member Edmund Marquez for a roaring, fun-filled show including:

Visits with the Zoo’s animals
VIP Virtual Gourmet Package which includes a pre-event virtual show with Penzi and her elephant family and invitation for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Zoo and a delectable meal (see menu below) Limited availability – book early!
Premier Auction items including Happy Hour with the Giraffes, Dinner with the Elephants and a Mark Rossi bronze of the Zoo’s tamandua and baby which also includes a visit to meet Lety and Oso.

Chaired by Board member Courtney Johnson, ZOOcson is a collaborative effort by volunteer committee members and Zoo staff with support from Reid Park Zoo’s Board of Directors and Event Sponsors.

The Zoo needs your support now more than ever after being closed for more than 5 months and this event is a fun way to help out! You can help your community Zoo through a ticket purchase, bidding on online auction items, or making a donation. Let’s make ZOOcson 2020 our most successful virtual fundraising event ever!

Gourmet Package Menu: Created by Zoo’s own Chef Stephanie Santos of Craft Culinary Concepts. Locally sourced delectables include assorted meats and cheese, fresh bread from Barrio Bread, homemade pickled vegetables; Southwest Veggie Tamales from The Tamale Store, Green Valley Pecans, and a delicious Dulce de Leche Dessert made by Chef Stephanie. All of these products will be accompanied by a bottle of white or red wine and packaged in a Reid Park Zoo logo insulated bag. Serves two with pick-up at the Zoo day of event.
