September 29, 2018 - Branch Out!
It’s a Bright and Sun Shiny Day!
The sun is essential for our planet, but here in Arizona we know sometimes it can make things a little hot. That’s why we’ll be staying cool with mud, water, and shade! Join us at this Nature Play to see what fun things you can do outside, even while the summer sun is shining brightly.
When: August 25, 8:30am-11:30am
October 20, 2018 - To the Bat Cave!
Trees are more than just a trunk, branches, and leaves: they provide shade, clean air, animal habitats, and much more. See what you can create with pine cones, wood blocks, and other tree artifacts, and play in the shade provided by—you guessed it—trees!
When: September 29, 8:30am-11:30am
November 24, 2018 - Forts!
To the Bat Cave!
Did you know lots of different animals call caves home? Explore the “cave” we’ve built at the Zoo, see for yourself who’s living inside, and discover why caves are so important (and cool!).
Zoo guests will also learn from Zoo Educators what makes cave cockroaches so unique.
When: October 20, 10:00am-1:00pm
December 29, 2018 - It's a Celebration!
Do you think you are a champion fort builder? Come try your hand at building with natural materials like bamboo sticks and banana leave at this month’s Nature Play!
When: November 24, 10:00am-1:00pm
It’s a Celebration!
It’s the last Nature Play day of the year! We have combined all the fun we’ve had playing outside this year into one big adventure with mud, sand, dirt, water, trees, and more! Celebrate the end of another year with all of the fun things nature has to offer.
When: December 29, 10:00am-1:00pm
