Winter Discoveries Await!
Our winter camps will provide exciting opportunities for your children to explore the Zoo and learn about our animals and the habitats that they live in. Through special behind-the-scenes experiences, crafts, games, and activities, your children will discover the wonders and mysteries of the natural world!
Dates and Time:
Winter camp will run from 9 am- 4pm on Tuesday, Dec 27, Wednesday, Dec 28, Thursday, Dec 29, and Friday Dec 30.
Each day of camp will have a unique theme, so you can sign your child up for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 days.
Advance registration is required, please use the tabs below to register.
Price:
$55 per day for Zoo Member children (Discount will be applied to your cart after you log in.)
$75 per day for Non-Member children

Winter Camp for Grades 1-2 - SOLD OUT
In camp for 1st-2nd grades, your child will explore hot and cold habitats around the world and discover how animals adapt to different temperatures:
Tuesday, December 27 -SOLD OUT
Topic: Hot and Cold Habitats – Across the globe, adventure awaits! Life can be found just about everywhere, from the driest desert to the steamiest rainforest. Your child will explore ecosystems around the world to find out how their climate makes the animals living there unique.
Wednesday, December 28- SOLD OUT
Topic: Amazing Adaptations – Animals come in all shapes, sizes, colors, textures, and so much more! Believe it or not, these critters may look different for a reason. Your child will discover the amazing ways that animals’ bodies help them in every single season.
Thursday, December 29 – SOLD OUT
Topic: Beneficial Behaviors – When it comes to animals surviving in the wild, it’s not just what their bodies have, it’s also what they do! Your child will learn the ways that animals behave in order to find food, water, and shelter no matter the weather.
Friday, December 30 – SOLD OUT
Topic: Colder Counterparts – There are many animals that look alike but live in totally different places! Your child will explore the similarities and differences between animals we have at the zoo and their relatives in colder climates.
Winter Camp for Grades 3-6
In camp for 3rd-6th grades, your child will investigate and learn what winter means to animals both here at the zoo and out in the wild.

Topic: Winter Around the World – Winter depends on where you are! Whether in Arizona or the Amazon, Montana or Tanzania, this time of year means something different for everyone. Your child will learn about the differences in winter across the globe, from habitats to hemispheres.
Wednesday, December 28 – SOLD OUT
Topic: Braving the Cold – It can be tough living out in the wild, especially when that winter weather comes! There are many challenges that animals face, whether it’s finding shelter, food, or even water. Your child will examine the many different ways wild animals prepare for the coming winter.
Thursday, December 29 – SOLD OUT
Topic: A Very Tucson Winter – Winter in Tucson may be mild, but it’s still winter! The Zoo’s animal care team works hard to meet each animal’s needs throughout the year. Your child will find out how the staff at Reid Park Zoo helps keep the animals comfy and cozy through the chillier seasons.

Topic: Winter Is Coming (Or Not) – People say winter just isn’t the same as when they were young. As it turns out, they’re right! As our climate changes, animals and people alike have to adapt. Your child will investigate how animals are dealing with shifting seasons and wilder winter weather.
