Walk to Support the Wildlife Ranger Challenge!
The Wildlife Rangers Challenge, powered by Tusk.org supports front-line rangers across Africa by raising vital funds for conservation efforts and awareness of the important work rangers do to protect Africa’s biodiversity.
On September 21, over 100 ranger teams spanning the African continent will unite to compete in a half marathon race carrying their typical 48 pound backpack and equipment. Teams around the world are partnering with them to show solidarity for the vital role they play in protecting Africa’s wildlife. Join us at that same time in Reid Park to walk with the rangers in solidarity.
Join Reid Park Zoo’s team on September 21 on a 1.5 mile walk around Reid Park in solidarity with the rangers from Tsavo Trust.
Pre-registration is required and funds raised will benefit conservation. You can also support the Challenge through a commemorative T-shirt.
Reid Park Zoo’s team is partnering with the wildlife rangers from Tsavo Trust. Tsavo Trust rangers protect many African species including lions, wild dogs, Grevy’s zebra, black rhinos, and Kenya’s largest single elephant population. This area is also home to several “big tuskers,” elephants that have tusks so long that they touch the ground. The registration fee and any donations you provide for the walk help field conservation efforts to protect wild animals in Africa.
