Welcome Wild Wonders to the Zoo
Art imitates life in brilliant color and detail, and you won’t want to miss the Tucson premiere of Wild Wonders: The Beauty of Art, Culture and Conservation. Ballet Folklorico La Paloma, dedicated to perpetuating the native folk dances of Mexico, and arousing pride in the Mexican-American community through colorful and entertaining performances. Visit on the evening of March 29 to kick off this incredible exhibit with a special celebration honoring cultural traditions of southern Arizona and Mexico:
- Discover the amazing intricacies of the Menchaca sculptures and their symbols
- Shop a mercado featuring handcrafted items and products by local and regional artisans and merchants including Adela Artisan Made, Arizona Pasta Pasta, Beautiful Little Things, Ben’s Bells, Cactus Jack Pickled Veggies, Cheri’s Desert Harvest, Hot Flash Chile Products, Jack and the Bean Soup, Mad Max the Dog, MadeItMikayla, Mouth of the South Salsa, The Roasted Chile, Tucson Chocolate Factory
- Explore the Zoo and learn about the animal, their care, and conservation efforts
- Enjoy live Latin music and dance by local performers: Santa Pachita and Ballet Folklorico La Paloma
- Stop by dinner with delicious Mexican food available for purchase and fun margaritas with a variety of flavors. Menu includes La Torta, Tamale Plate, Coctel de Elote, Nachos, Green Chile Cheeseburger, Guacamole Burger, Walking Taquito Cups, El Sonora Dog, and Kid’s Menu.

Performance Schedule
4:30 – 7:00 p.m. Santa Pachita, local Tucson band that plays Latin-Fusion inspired by salsa, cumbia, ska and reggae.
5 – 5:30 p.m. Ballet Folklorico La Paloma, dedicated to perpetuating the native folk dances of Mexico, and arousing pride in the Mexican-American community through colorful and entertaining performances.
