Theme Nights:

June 12: Ocean Conservation and Sustainable Seafood

We might reside in the desert but Tucson residents (human and animal alike) love to splash around. Do you love the water as much as the grizzly bears, otters, jaguar or alligator? This evening we’re celebrating doing our part to protect the health of the oceans on our planet! Do like the otters do and make sure your seafood snacks are sustainable. Wear your best ocean blue outfit and don’t forget to skip the plastic water bottle in favor of a reusable one! Live music by Michael P. and the Gullywashers — Instrumental Surf, 50’s and 60’s Rock n Roll, 70’s Funk, Rockabilly, Chicago Blues, New Orleans Blues, and Honky Tonk.

June 19: Large and In Charge

Reid Park Zoo elephant Mabu is the largest resident of Arizona, weighing in at more than 13,000 pounds! From the long, long necks of the giraffe herd and the heft of the rhinos to the muscular build of the lion pride, we share this planet with some big and strong animals. Wear your favorite muscle shirt or just bring your biggest smile to help us celebrate these sizable species. Live classic rock, rock’n’roll, blues, and country covers by Jamie’s Gang!

June 26: Art in the Animal Kingdom

There’s nothing quite as beautiful as nature. It takes many forms: The striking colors of birds and poison dart frogs, the majesty of a lion’s mane, and the unique and beautiful patterns found on zebras, giraffe, and jaguars. Live music by the incredible Leila Lopez!
