The Lion King is a musical drama film directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. Prior to the movie, we will show a short video of Reid Park Zoo’s lions and talk about their care, characteristics, and life at the Zoo. Guests will receive movie ticket, fun fact sheet about the Zoo’s lions with photos, a raffle ticket for the chance to do a VIP experience with the lions including an exclusive training session. VIP tickets include all of the above plus unlimited popcorn and soda and a commemorative plush lion.

$35 VIP Ticket with unlimited popcorn and soda (includes movie, lion chat, fun fact sheet, lion plush and unlimited popcorn & soda)

The funds raised from this preview will support lion conservation through the Protect the Pride Campaign. Since the original Lion King was first released in theaters 25 years ago, we have lost half of Africa’s lions. Only 20,000 remain from a population of 200,000 a century ago. Together with Disney and Wildlife Conservation Network’s Lion Recovery Fund, Reid Park Zoo is committed to helping double the number of lions in Africa by 2050. Will you join us in our goal to help bring lions back? Protect the Pride! Show your support of lions with hashtags #TheLionKing #ProtectThePride.

Reid Park Zoo will be raising funds in additional ways to support The Lion Recovery Fund including the Adopt an Animal Program with the Zoo’s lion pride benefiting the campaign and hosting a Breakfast with the Lions on World Lion Day in August. Stay tuned for more information!
