Party for the Planet – Bike to the Zoo

Join us for a Party for the Planet at the Zoo on Earth Day – Sunday, April 22!  Guests will enjoy a variety of conservation-themed activities and informational displays from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. to help celebrate fun ways to help protect our environment. Activities are free with paid admission to the Zoo.

Activities will include:

  • Nature Play
  • Bee activity
  • Seed ball activity
  • Plant raffle
  • Animal presentations/encounters

Approximately 130 zoos and aquariums accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) are joining together for the largest combined Earth Day celebration in North America—the 12th Annual Party For the Planet™! Pedal your way to the Zoo and show your bicycle at the front gate for one free admission (per bike) until 3 p.m. only.

2018 Schedule

9:00-3:00: Bike to Zoo get in free
9:00-11:30: Nature Play, Bee activity + seed bombs, interpretive stations, and more!
10:00: Otter feeding
11:00: Tree plant raffle made possible by Nighthawk Natives Nursery
1:30: Elephant
2:00-3:00: Animal Ambassador Encounters

Crafts and activities will take place at the Conservation Learning Center from 9:00 – 11:30.

Valet bicycle parking inside the Zoo (available from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) is made possible by volunteers from the Greater Arizona Bicycling Association (GABA).
