New for 2019!
This new, interactive Young Explorers program will focus on one unifying topic for each series. During the Spring series, your child can discover all the unique adaptations animals have for eating. We all have our favorite foods and through up-close animal encounters, behind the scenes adventures and hands-on activities your child will see first-hand what foods the animals at Reid Park Zoo prefer.
Register for one or come to ALL the programs within the series for the maximum adventure!

Designed for 6-12 year-olds
Price:
$15 for Zoo Member children per class
$20 for Non-Member children per class
Program Details:
- Advance registration is required.
- Parents should plan on dropping off and picking up their children at the front of the Zoo.
- The next Young Explorers Series will run from August- November.
Feb 3 - Hungry, Hungry Herbivores

Does your child eat all of their vegetables?
In the first program of the Young Explorers Spring Series, your child will discover what animals love to eat their fruits and vegetables! We will focus on the unique adaptations of herbivores, have up-close encounters with iconic animals, and learn just how much the world’s largest herbivore needs to eat in one day. Register below:

March 16 - Outrageous Omnivores

Picky eaters? No way!
Continuing through the Young Explores Spring Series, this program will focus on omnivores – animals who eat both plants and other animals for their main food. Your child will get to see where the Zoo animals’ diets are made with care every day and have up-close encounters with the Zoo’s omnivorous animal ambassadors! Register below:

April 7 - Captivating Carnivores

Crazy for carnivores?
The last topic of the Young Explorers Spring Series is carnivorous animals! You child will discover how carnivores have adapted to stay at the top of their food chains. With an opportunity to go behind the scenes at a carnivore habitat and up-close animal encounters with some of the Zoo’s carnivorous animal ambassadors, your child is sure to leave the program crazy for carnivores too!
