Family Nature Workshop
Connect your family to Nature!
Family Nature Workshops encourage families to get outside and experience nature by:
- Focusing on child-led investigation and unstructured play.
- Providing new ideas and resources to encourage families to get outside more often.
- Teaching skills for exploring nature that can be replicated when you get home.
Each workshop may include meeting Reid Park Zoo’s LIVE animal ambassadors, participating in a nature themed craft or activity and visits from guest speakers.
Designed for families with children 8 years old and younger, though all ages are welcomed!
Nature Family Workshops are FREE with paid admission to the Zoo. (registration is requested)
Family Nature Workshops are offered every other month.
This month’s topic:
BYOT- Bring Your Own Tent!
Or borrow one of ours! Camping season is coming up and we want to help your family get into tip top camping shape. During this hands-on workshop you’ll practice pitching your tent. You’ll learn about some great camping locations around Tucson and we’ll teach you easy nature-inspired activities to do together when you get there. Create a handy camping checklist so you’ll be ready for the big day, and learn tips about camping with young children with our community partner, Hike It Baby! You won’t want to miss this program.
