Mother’s Day 

Celebrate and thank mom with a fun and relaxing day at the Zoo. Mothers of all generations will receive free daytime admission at the gate with an accompanying paying child or adult admission.

Meet some of the Zoo’s animal moms and learn how they care for their little wild ones. See how zookeepers care for our animal families and watch as they provide some “pampering enrichment” to a few of our animal moms. This Mother’s Day is extra meaningful as the Zoo recently welcomes two new spring babies: a giraffe and elephant calf, who are important births for their species. 

Treat mom to lunch or a refreshing mimosa at the Flamingo Grill. Looking for a unique gift that gives back? Check out the Wildlife Trading Post for an array of jewelry, apparel and earth-friendly items. Zoo members receive a 10% discount in the shop.

The Day’s Schedule:

9:30 a.m. – Expedition Tanzania Zoo keeper chat and enrichment with Semba, the Zoo’s African elephant matriarch and her new calf

10 a.m. Flight Connection Aviary Zoo keeper chat on new baby birds 

11 a.m. Giraffe Habitat Zoo keeper chat with Penny and her new calf Moyo

1 p.m.  Meerkat Habitat Zoo keeper chat with our meerkat moms

2 p.m.  Lion Habitat Zoo keeper chat with our lion mom and her daughter
