Where Learning Gets Wild!
You can explore the animal world at the Zoo with your “little critter” through activities based on Arizona’s Early Learning Standards to develop motor, social, and cognitive skills. Each program includes animal ambassador encounters, crafts, and more! Check the monthly schedule below for the upcoming topics. Advance registration is required.
Designed for children ages 2-5 years
(One adult chaperone is required and is included in the program price. Class size is limited, only 2 adults per child may attend this program.)
$12 for Zoo Member children
$20 for Non-Member children

February 18 - Love is in the Air
Start off the new year discovering what makes animals SUPER!
We’ll explore some super, special ways animals find food, escape predators and survive in the wild. See these unique adaptations through up-close encounters with the Zoo’s animal ambassadors while making your own animal-inspired superhero mask. Advance registration is required.

March 17 - Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
Colorful displays and dancing…
Animals show their appreciation for one another in unique ways. Meet live animal ambassadors and discover how animals show affection for one another, choose partners, and develop their own families. Advance registration is required.

April 3- Amazing Animal Textures
Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes…and Tails?
This Little Critters is all about animal body parts! You and your little critter will discover how animals can be similar or different than us and how animal body parts are adapted for special jobs. Encounters with live animal ambassadors will help us compare and contrast animal body parts. Your little one’s imagination will get the chance to run wild by creating their own animal! Advance registration is required.

This Little Critters is all about exploring different types of animal textures and why animals have fur, feathers, skin, or scales. Up close encounters with animal ambassadors will let your little one safely explore different textures in the animal world. Advance registration is required.
