Where Learning Gets Wild!
You can explore the animal world at the Zoo with your “little critter” through activities based on Arizona’s Early Learning Standards to develop motor, social, and cognitive skills. Each program includes animal ambassador encounters, crafts, and more! Check the monthly schedule below for the upcoming topics. Advance registration is required.
Designed for children ages 2-5 years
(one adult chaperone is required and is included in the program price)
$12 for Zoo Member children
$20 for Non-Member children

Explore the Zoo with your ears open!
If your child’s ever tried to roar like a lion or trumpet like an elephant then this adventure is for your family! How and why do animals make all those amazing noises? Discover what all those whoops, twitters, and roars are for. You might hear some sounds you’ve never heard before, or even make some of your own!

November 4, 2018 - Colors in the Wild!
Families are important – even to animals!
Are animal families like ours or are they different? During this Little Critters adventure, we’ll discover the answer while we visit some animals that stay in family groups and some who like to explore on their own. Through close encounters with several of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors, we will learn about the importance of family in the animal world. Bring your own family to the zoo and see how you compare!

December 16, 2018 - Holiday Treat!
Animals come in a whole rainbow of colors!
Orange tigers, pink flamingos, and brown bears. Bring your family on this colorful adventure through the animal kingdom. We’ll search for different colors around the Zoo and make a vibrant craft to take home. Close encounters with the Zoo’s animal ambassadors will show us the importance of colors in the animal world.

January 12, 2019 - Animal Superpowers
The holidays are here, and we want to celebrate with you!
Warm up in the Zoo’s Conservation Learning Center while helping make holiday enrichment that the animal care team will give to the animals at Reid Park Zoo later. Enjoy an up-close visit from some of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors as you learn how the Zoo uses all kinds of treats—including the ones you will make—to help keep our animals healthy.
