Start your morning with a “Roar.” Meet Reid Park Zoo’s lion pride in honor of World Lion Day and help protect this regal species. Activities include lion enrichment and training, special chat with the lion keeper, and a scrumptious sunrise breakfast.
The funds raised from this event will support lion conservation through the Protect the Pride Campaign. Since 1994, (when the original Lion King was first released in theaters), we have lost half of Africa’s lions. Only 20,000 remain from a population of 200,000 a century ago. Together with AZA and Wildlife Conservation Network’s Lion Recovery Fund, Reid Park Zoo is committed to helping double the number of lions in Africa by 2050.
