Browse, or the twigs, branches, shoots, and leaves from woody plants like trees, is eaten by many animals at Reid Park Zoo everyday. Certain freshly cut tree branches can be donated to our Zoo to help feed many animals including giraffes, elephants, Baird’s tapirs, and blue duikers.
It’s important to note, to ensure we are providing the freshest browse possible for our animals we do not accept browse that is more than two days old. So snap a quick photo, and fill out our Browse Donation form ahead of time in order for the browse to be as fresh as possible.

We are especially grateful to landscapers like Made in the Shade Expert Tree Service, who have helped provide approved tree trimmings to our Browse program regularly over 10 years. Be sure to ask your landscaper if they will be willing to take your approved tree trimmings to the Zoo to support wildlife!
