Zoo Lights Community Nights make the holidays “paw-some” for animals – and animal lovers

Attention animal lovers! Reid Park Zoo is offering $1 off admission to Zoo Lights with a donation to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA).

“We appreciate Tucson’s generosity of spirit as a community, always helping the great non-profits like the Humane Society of Southern Arizona that work hard year-round to improve our quality of life.” said Randy Peterson, Director of Development for HSSA.

The Humane Society will be at Zoo Lights 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday December 7 and 8 for the Zoo’s Community Nights. Visitors to the Zoo who bring a donation of wet cat or dog food or a dog Kong   toy will receive $1 off their Zoo Lights admission during the Community Nights.

“It’s the season of giving, and we are excited to be able to offer this fun promotion for a limited time,” said Gail Brown, Reid Park Zoological Society Director of Development. “Community Nights at Zoo Lights is the perfect opportunity for our community to come out and support animals – both our wildlife at the zoo, and our pets at home.”

Stuffed animals, books about animals – and other toy donations – will also get guests $1 off admission. Toys will go toward Tucson A List’s “Gifts of Hope” Toy Drive for children in foster care and local families in need.

Zoo Lights, presented by Tucson Electric Power, is a local holiday favorite, in addition to being home to your wildest Zoo friends! Zoo Lights features thousands of twinkling lights, light displays and animal-themed light sculptures in addition to falling snow and Santa. The Humane Society will be at the Zoo with 2017 calendars and other merchandise for holiday shoppers.
