Thank You for an Incredible 2023

2023 is coming to an end, and what a year it has been! Thank you for your support, which has been a key part of these highlights throughout the year:

  • New stripes are visible in the zebra habitat, with a new foal born at the Zoo on Christmas Day and Zuri the zebra recently joining the herd.
  • Gwen the sloth moved into an remarkable new habitat in the South America loop, and has stolen hearts near and far with his antics on the Sloth Cam.
  • World of Play opened, welcoming children to explore the globe through play. From the heights of a redwood tree to the chill of an Antarctic ice cave, this new nature playground is an adventure zone unlike any other.
  • Blue duikers joined the ring-tailed lemurs in a shared habitat, bringing a fascinating new species to Reid Park Zoo. To spot these spritely antelope, keep your eyes close to the ground! Full grown they reach only about a foot tall and weigh seven to ten pounds.
  • The new Reid Park parking lot is paving the way for growth at the Zoo, as we prepare to close the Zoo’s former parking lot and begin construction on Pathway to Asia earlier in the new year.
  • The Big, Big Bugs exhibit to the Zoo engaged guests in a fun way, uncovering the essential and gigantic role that bugs play in our world from crops to clean-up.

Because of you, this year we were able to make tremendous strides in our animal wellness program, developed the Zoo’s Master Plan, supported field programs to protect wild animals and wild places with our conservation partners, and so much more.

Your support of Reid Park Zoo is vital. It provides enrichment and the highest level of care for the Zoo’s animals, supports conservation in the wild, and provides a beautiful place for all of us to connect with nature. We couldn’t Zoo it without you!

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we depend on your generous support to achieve our mission each and every year. Please consider including Reid Park Zoo in your year-end giving plans by making a tax deductible gift. Your support means the world to us.

We are wishing you health and happiness in the new year.
