On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!

library 1Did you know Reid Park Zoo and the Pima County Library team up every summer to encourage kids to keep learning even when school is out? Each June and July the Zoo sends Educators and Animal Ambassadors to library branches all over Pima County to help support the library’s Summer Reading Program. This year, these programs will focus on how movement and exercise is important for animals as well as for kids!

There are lots of reasons to participate in the Library’s Summer Reading Program, but one of the biggest is that there’s a celebration at the Zoo at the end of the program for everyone who completes his or her summer reading goals. This year the celebration will take place from on Saturday, July 16th from 8:00-11:00 a.m. Every participant who completes the Summer Reading Program will receive an invitation for a FREE admission to the Zoo that day. There will be activities and lots of opportunities for fun at the Zoo all morning long.
