National Butterfly Day

Today is National Butterfly Day!

We are celebrating being in the middle of the monarch butterfly’s annual fall migration through Tucson! Our Zoo has planted native milkweed in our new pollinator garden to support monarchs on their journey to warm locations to overwinter.

You can learn about planting habitats for monarchs by visiting Monarch Joint Venture, a partner of AZA’s Monarch SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction) program. Together we can create a safe path for monarchs!
