Help Name Reid Park Zoo’s Elephant Calf

The African elephant calf born at Reid Park Zoo on March 8 is in need of a name, and the public is invited to cast their vote!

The elephant care team has chosen their top names for the community to decide between.

This poll has closed.

The new calf expands the Zoo’s elephant herd to five, joining mother Semba, big sisters Nandi and Penzi, and allomother Lungile. The calf is the third African elephant calf born at Reid Park Zoo.

The calf and Semba are both doing well, and have been joining the other members of their herd in exploring the entire elephant habitat. While there is no set schedule of when the calf is most visible to guests, she can be seen periodically throughout the day.
