Happy National Zoo Keeper Week 2016!

We appreciate our Zoo Keepers EVERY week, but this week gives us an opportunity to shine the spotlight on these hard-working professionals, and the incredible lengths they go to in order to care for the animals at the Zoo. And it doesn’t stop there. Did you know our Keepers participate in conservation projects and fundraisers for animals in the wild too? The Tucson chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) is currently planning a great event called Bowling for Rhinos, scheduled for September 18, 2016. This annual event raises thousands of dollars for rhino conservation in Africa, and gives Tucson community members a chance to get together, have some fun, and help rhinos in the wild! Watch our website for information coming soon about how you can get involved. In the meantime, enjoy these photos of our tireless Zoo Keepers working hard but (almost) always smiling. Thanks, Zoo Keepers, for everything you do!
