Have you even wondered what happens in the Zoo at night, when no one’s around? Here’s your chance to find out! On Saturday, October 5, the Zoo will be hosting a campout for families with kids ages 5 and up—and it’ll be a night to remember. We’ll have the Event Garden open from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for families to set up their camps and enjoy a picnic dinner (the Zoo’s restaurant won’t be open for this event, so please bring your own). Families should also bring their own tent (we will have a limited number of tents available for rental), sleeping bags, and toothbrushes. We’ll provide flashlights, an evening snack, and a continental breakfast the next morning, as well as an action-packed evening of activities! We’ll tour through the Zoo, meet some of our demonstration animals, and go on a scavenger hunt. In the morning, we’ll wake up early for breakfast and a Behind the Scenes tour before leaving the Zoo at 8:00 a.m.
The price for this unique program is $50.00 per person, or $40.00 per person if you’re members of the Zoo. Pre-registration is required—register early to reserve your spot! We’re happy to answer any questions you have about the event—just email us at zooeducation@tucsonaz.gov. We hope to see you in October!
