Single Day Group Volunteering is limited to two groups per month (no groups in October) with availability Tuesdays – Saturdays.*

Start time for group volunteer projects varies based on the Zoo’s hours of operation. June – September start time is 8 am and November – May start times are available at 9 am and 10 am.

Volunteering time frames for Single Day Group Volunteers vary based on project type and staff availability. After volunteering, groups are welcome to explore the Zoo. Please note: regardless of the duration selected, the project may end earlier.

Adult Volunteer Groups (18+ years of age)*

Single Day Volunteer Group size is limited to a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 20 people. Is your group all adults (18+ years of age)?

Adult and Youth Volunteer Groups (youth 8-17 years of age)*

Groups with youth volunteers (8-17 years of age), require 1 adult per 5 youth. Groups with volunteers under the age of 14 will not be assigned projects using equipment or ladders or in behind the scenes areas. Are there youth volunteers in your group?

Group volunteer projects are selected based on group size, age of participants, comfort level, and project need. Types of projects groups could be helping with are, weeding, painting, deep cleaning, landscaping, etc. Groups with youth volunteers under the age of 14 will not be assigned projects using equipment, chemicals or ladders.*
