Summer hours end August 31

Don’t forget, Zoo summer hours end on Saturday, August 31. We’ll be open from 9am-4pm starting Sunday, September 1, which means you (and the anteaters) get to sleep in! More information about hours and current rates can be found here.

Meet “Finley” and “Ronan!”

It’s official, “Finley” and “Ronan” are the clear winners of the grizzly bear naming vote.  Both names pay tribute to locations close to where the bears were rescued.  What’s next?  Introducing Finley and Ronan to their exhibit once modifications are complete.  Stay tuned, soon we’ll let you know when the bears will make their debut.

Giraffe Barn Construction begins August 5th

Piñata Friday!

This may be the only time you’ll see an otter stalking an elephant–it’s piñata Friday at Zoo Caper Summer Camp!   Campers have spent the week building giraffes, elephants, flamingos, and…cheeseburgers (?) out of cardboard boxes and papier-mâché.  Today, keepers will stuff these creations with species-appropriate food items, and campers will get to watch animals enjoy… read more
